Knowledge baseCertifications

the data certifiers ask for, already measured

Green building labels reward what can be measured and proven. Building automation provides the continuous air-quality, comfort and energy data, the controls and the commissioning records behind many credits. Credits are awarded by the scheme's assessor; we provide the evidence.

Other schemes

LEED, DGNB and LENOZ

  1. 01

    LEED v4.1 and v5

Building-level and advanced energy metering, enhanced commissioning, continuous indoor-air monitoring, thermal and lighting control, grid interaction. The BMS exports the data each credit needs.

  2. 02

    DGNB (TEC1.4)

"Use and integration of building technology" rewards integrated systems on open, standardised protocols and functions combined in one higher-level system. Bisly integrates HVAC, lighting, shading, access and metering on open protocols.

  3. 03

    LENOZ (Luxembourg)

Luxembourg's sustainability certificate for housing. Energy monitoring and comfort data support the relevant criteria; we confirm the mapping with the project's LENOZ assessor.

  4. 04

    Reference projects

Bisly buildings include Maakri HUB, Tallinn (A-class LEED office, BACS class B) and Saue Smart (LEED Silver, energy class A).

Questions

Certification questions

Does building automation earn WELL points?

It provides the evidence for several WELL v2 features, notably A08 Air Quality Monitoring and Awareness, T03 Thermal Zoning, T04 Individual Thermal Control, T06 Thermal Comfort Monitoring and T07 Humidity Control. Points are awarded by IWBI based on the full feature requirements.

Which BREEAM issues does a BMS support?

Mainly Ene 02 Energy monitoring (sub-metering connected to a BMS), Hea 02 Indoor air quality, Hea 04 Thermal comfort, Man 04 Commissioning and handover, Man 05 Aftercare and the water monitoring issues.
