Bisly Wirelesstaking orders now
full building control. no new cables.
The complete Bisly system for buildings that are already in use. Installed in days, floor by floor, while people keep working and living in the building. Only the plant room is wired.
The problem
Getting a cable to every room is a construction project
01
The control layer is missing
Heat pumps, ventilation, PV and meters get installed; the system that ties them together usually does not.
02
Cabled retrofits stop buildings
Risers opened, ceilings down, rooms out of use for weeks; months per building to design, cable and commission.
03
Renovation is now mandatory
The EPBD requires the worst 16% of non-residential stock renovated by 2030 and 26% by 2033.
Architecture
Three radios, each doing one job
Open standards end to end — no proprietary radio, no lock-in.
- 01Plant room, wired. The Bisly Server and integration modules connect substation, ventilation, heat pump, meters and DALI lighting over Modbus, BACnet, M-Bus and DALI-2.
- 02Backbone, Wi-SUN. Sub-GHz 868 MHz, frequency hopping, IPv6 self-healing mesh; hundreds of metres per hop through floors and concrete. The standard utilities use for smart meters.
- 03Zone, Thread and Matter. A local IPv6 mesh in each zone; the zone gateway runs the control loop. Matter is the device language backed by Apple, Google, Amazon and Samsung.
- 04Two speeds by design. Time-critical control stays in the zone; setpoints, schedules and readings travel over Wi-SUN. If the backbone is away, every room keeps its setpoint and schedule.
All zones connected
Devices
Everything in the zone is wireless, added by scanning its Matter code
| Device | Radio | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Base station | Wi-SUN, Ethernet | Mesh root in a riser or corridor, connected to the Bisly Server; one or more per building, meshed with each other |
| Zone gateway | Wi-SUN + Thread | One per floor, wing or tenancy (about 200 m²); runs the local control loop, schedules and buffering |
| Wireless actuator | Matter / Thread | Radiator, fan-coil and floor-heating valves; clips on in place of the old valve head |
| Room sensor | Matter / Thread | Temperature and humidity in every room; CO₂, presence and lux variants |
| Wireless meters | Wireless M-Bus | Heat, water and electricity per tenancy, read by the M-Bus gateway |
| Also | Matter | Room thermostat, wall switch, presence and lux sensor, integration module for plant controllers |
Versus older wireless
Why Wi-SUN and Thread, not EnOcean, Zigbee or Bluetooth
| EnOcean | Zigbee | Bluetooth mesh | Bisly Wireless | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Band | 868 MHz, single channel | 2.4 GHz, shared with Wi-Fi | 2.4 GHz, shared with Wi-Fi and phones | Sub-GHz backbone, frequency hopping; Thread only inside the zone |
| Indoor range | About 30 m, no routing | 10–15 m per hop | 10–15 m per hop | Hundreds of metres per hop, through floors and concrete |
| When a link drops | The sensor is unheard | Reroutes if another router is in range | Flooding finds a path if relays are in range | Both meshes reroute; the room keeps its setpoint locally |
| Security | Application level | Shared network key | Shared keys | Certificate per device on the backbone, Matter attestation |

Reliability and security
Built for the objection "wireless is unreliable"
01
Control runs in the room
Setpoints, schedules and the control loop live in the zone gateway; telemetry is buffered and forwarded.
02
The backbone carries very little
Kilobytes per zone per day — setpoints, schedules, alarms, readings. No video, no voice.
03
No single point of failure
Meshed gateways, meshed base stations and a wired plant island.
04
Secure by standard
802.1X / EAP-TLS certificate on every Wi-SUN node, Thread encryption, Matter device attestation, outbound HTTPS only.
05
Surveyed and accepted
Every site starts with an RF survey and ends with an acceptance report.
Where it fits
Three places wireless wins
- 01
Offices, new or in use
Wireless room control where cabling was never planned or the floor plan will change; phased floor by floor. References: Lāčplēša Plaza, Riga; Liivalaia, Tallinn (−30% energy).
- 02
Schools and public buildings
Installed during the school year; Matter lighting where no luminaire cabling exists; presence and daylight per classroom. Reference: Vanalinna Hariduskolleegium, Tallinn.
- 03
Apartment buildings and build-to-rent
About 30 minutes per apartment, nothing drilled, residents stay at home; billing by consumption on the same network.
How it starts
Survey, pilot, roll out
01
RF survey
We walk the building and measure coverage. Scope and budget within 5 working days.
02
Pilot floor
One floor, riser or plant room installed and commissioned with the Installer App.
03
Building-wide
Zones and buildings added without construction. AMP X SYNC runs and services the building after handover.
